FUNCTIONAL UPDATES FOR LASER CUTTING MACHINE – 2017
Snijlab aims to deliver high-quality lasercut products through a user friendly online interface. They have designed and built their own laser cutting machines. Scheef Systems is installing machine updates in order to reduce production time, and increase product quality.
WIND TURBINE CONTROL SYSTEMS - 2015/ 2016
Delft Offshore Turbine (DOT) is developing a wind energy system specifically for offshore installation. DOT wind turbines will be installed in an array, and use seawater hydraulic drivetrains to deliver their energy to a centralized electric generator. The DOT concept will essentially cut installation cost by lowering turbine weight, and simplify offshore maintenance.
LAUNCH & LAND CONCEPT FOR AIRBORNE WIND ENERGY SYSTEM - 2014
There is sufficient wind to power the world’s growing energy demand, but we need the right technology to harvest this enormous potential. Ampyx Power is developing an Airborne Wind Energy System (AWES) with a tethered aircraft that converts wind into electricity. As a full time employee with Ampyx Power, I performed conceptual design of the launch and land system, which Ampyx will be using for the next generation system: AP3.
